TATA Bolt Car


Indian car maker Tata showcased its new nextgen hatch back Tata bolt car during auto expo 2014 held at Greater Noida. Tata bolt is based on X1 platform and may be referred as highly modified advanced vista car in terms of design (DesigNext), drivablilty (DriveNext) and connectivity (ConnectNext). Tata has announced that Bolt will go on sale by the mid of 2014 and it will make international debut as well.

TATA Bolt Engine Specifications


Tata Bolt will be available in both petrol and diesel engine variants.

The petrol variant of Tata bolt will be powered by a 1.2-litre Revotron engine that comes incorporated with a multi-point fuel injection system. It produces a maximum power of 83.83 Bhp at 5000 rpm and a peak torque output of about 140Nm at just 1750 to 3000rpm. The engine is coupled with an advanced 5-speed manual transmission gearbox. Tata bolt Petrol could return 18 to 19 Kmpl of mileage.

The diesel variant of Tata bolt comes with 1.3 litre, 1248cc, 4 cyclinders, 16 valves Quadrajet engine with incorporated multi-point fuel injection system. It generates a maximum power of 74Bhp at 4000rpm and a peak torque of about 190Nm at 1750 to 3000rpm. Tata bolt diesel delivers a mileage of 22.3 kmpl.

TATA Bolt Exteriors


The newly unveiled Tata Bolt comes with a distinct style and eyecatching looks. At the front it gets new grille and sleek shaped headlights that stretch from the middle of the bonnet to the grille. The rear bumper comes with dual toned scheme and it is fitted with a reflector that to the rear safety.

Tata bolt will have total length of about 3825mm, 1695mm of width and 1550mm of height. It has large wheelbase of about 2470mm.

TATA Bolt Interiors


Tata Bolt features a white and black combination interior setup with premium plastics. The gauges are mounted behind the steering and a 5 inch touch screen display created by Harmann. It is equipped with AC unit, music system, advanced infotainment system and other utility based functions.

TATA Bolt Safety Features


On safety part Tata Bolt features advanced electronic power assisted steering system with "Active Return" function along with a speed sensitive function, which will provide accurate response to the driver while maneuvering. its suspension system is highly robust that can take care of driving dynamics.

TATA Bolt Competitors

Major competitors of Tata Bolt in India are Grand i10, Maruti Suzuki Swift, Chevrolet Sail and Volkswagen Polo.

TATA Bolt Price

Tata will price the Bolt in the range of 4.6 lakh Rupees to 6.6 lakh Rupees and it will have four petrol and three diesel variants.
